Originally conceived by Andrew T.S. Bedgood and Brandon Strohl, CTRL-Z (pronounced "undo") was intended to be a spiritual successor to Bedgood's earlier work Life With Brother. The series was set up as a sketch comedy show with several independent comedy skits with recurring characters strung together for an episode. Despite it's popularity on YouTube (with the combined viewings of the censored and uncensored versions being over 215), only one episode of the show was produced. It is rumored that Bedgood wrote five scripts for the series.

CTRL-Z was published using the Patriot Studio banner even though Casey Te Beest is not listed in the credits; regarding this, Bedgood has stated, "Casey is an invaluable asset to me during the creative process and CTRL-Zwould not have been possible without him or his input."
